初めてのパフォーマンス
これは泥藍大島です。
ものすごぉ懐かしい着物です。
これはたいへん精巧に織られた絣です。
絣は 南方から伝わってきて、
日本各地に根を生やしてる。
インドからインドネシアという海周りと,中国からの陸路の二つの道からやって 来た。
7世紀にやっと日本にたどり着いたそうです。
この着物は70歳越しても、えらい元気です。
母さんの人生にもいろんなことがあったけど、手元に最後まで残って着物です。
私が引き継いだけど、次は無いかも知れん。
男の子二人やし、奥さんは何人か知らん。一人は日本には帰らんそうやし････。
これは手紡ぎの糸で、先に藍染、それから絣工程を経て、
テーチー泥染め地色がテーチ（車輪梅）のタンニンと泥に含まれる
鉄分が化合して渋い黒になる。絣部分は藍色で表われます。
袖口は「銀ねずから白のぼかし」、八掛けは「びゃくろく」（白緑）、襟、伊達襟、帯揚げ、帯締め、八掛けも含めて、着物を演出する小物です。
着物は、この小物の色を変えるだけで、幅広い年齢層に親しまれます。
さて、私のパフォーマンス、
母さんがこの着物を着てました。それはいつも日曜日、
教会へ行く朝です。
真っ白い座布団に寝かされてた私。ポカポカしてました。
お日さんが当たってて、めっちゃ気持ちが良かった。
ちょうどオムツを変えてる最中やった。
お日さんがあったってただけでも気持ちが良かってんけど、
ふ～っ！心地よ～い・・・・・・・、
私は母さんにおしっこを飛ばしてた。
これが私の最初の着物との遭遇でした。
大騒ぎの後、母さんは洋服に着替えて、みんなで教会へ・・・。
"My Fist Performance"
The Ikat is a weaving made from pre-dyed tightly woven thread.
This method originated from Lndia andtravelled to China and Indonesia, along the silk routes,
eventually reaching Japan in the 7th Century.
The material of this Kimono is 70 years old and is very storong, it will out last me.
The thread is handspun and uses natural dyes, iron mud for the black and Indigo for the blue.
The material is further decoreted with a "splash' pattern of leaves and turtles.
The lining in some parts is silver fading to white and in other parts an exquisite pale green.
The lining of Kimono is very important and gives an accent of colour, like a tie worn with a suit.
Younger women can wear bright red and orange linings
while mature women turn to more subdued choices for their linings.
My mother wore this Kimono for 40 years of her life,
I remember her wearing this when I was a baby and she was changing my nappy.
It was in the bright light of morning and L was lying on a white cushion and she was leaning over me.
It was like a theatrical setting and I was the star; so I would try to pee on her and would often succeed.
This Kimono is my first memory.
She usually wore it to church
on Sundays and would shange me before we left.
Often, when Iwas successful, she would have to change too.
